A 2016 Land Rover Discovery sports utility vehicle with a mileage of about 10,000. The customer reported that the car would not start.
Fault Analysis Xinchehui maintenance personnel tested the car and found that the starter was running normally, but the engine would not start. The engine control unit was checked and there was no fault code. When the starter was running, the data from the engine control unit was read and it was found that the fuel pressure was abnormal.
Use the oil pressure gauge to measure the fuel pressure. If it is still 0, it means the fuel pump is not working. According to the circuit diagram, check the fuse of the fuel pump and find that the fuse is intact. Measured the power supply and ground of the fuel pump and found they were normal.
The fuel pump was disassembled and inspected, and it was found that its connector had been ablated. Disconnect the fuel pipe and inspect it thoroughly to confirm that the cause of the ablation is the loss of the sealing ring of the connector and poor contact caused by rust on the pins.
Troubleshooting: Replace the fuel pump assembly, repair the connector of the fuel pump wiring harness, and solve the fault.
